The University of Illinois at Chicago, a member of the Horizon League who competes at the Division I level in 18 sport programs is accepting applications for 2 positions - Full Time (12 Month) Alumni Relations Director. Candidate directs and manages all activities related to UIC student athlete alumni and all other donors to strengthen alumni relations and engage alumni in activities related to UIC Athletics. This includes strategy development with event planning, donor engagement and stewardship. Job Responsibilities include the following: • Develop and maintain plans and strategies to incorporate alumni in all aspects of athletics • Develop strategies for alumni events, locally and nationally, involving alumni and donors for all sport programs with an emphasis for all NCAA Champion events • Develop strategies for speaking engagements with coaches and select staff with alumni, alumni groups and donors • Cultivate alumni through events and receptions with intention to solicit possible gifts for athletics • Oversee the coordination of all projects through gifts and donations from alumni including but not limited to new facilities, enhancements and renovations to facilities and donor intent gifts • Serve as Liaison with the Director of Advancement for Athletics, Advisory Council, Lettermen’s Club, Head Coaches and other consulting groups (if applicable) • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned • Plan, assign and review work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met. Bachelor Degree Required; Master’s Degree Preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations with an emphasis on extra benefits (NCAA Bylaw 16). A minimum of 2 years of work related experience in an athletic setting or professional sport setting is required. Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
