The University of Iowa, an NCAA Division I FBS program, is seeking applications for an Assistant Director of Compliance to assist in developing and administering a system of compliance to ensure that the University has institutional control of its Athletics program and all related activities. This is a full-time position with full University benefits, salary range is $50,000 to commensurate.
The University of Iowa is an NCAA Division I Power Five institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 24 varsity sports programs and operates under a "Win. Graduate. Do It Right.” philosophy.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: NCAA rules interpretations; assist in the investigation and reporting of NCAA violations; assist in the planning, development and implementation of a comprehensive rules education program for internal and external constituents; coordinate the annual certification of student-athletes; assist in the preparation and maintenance of Squad Lists; assist with supervision and the monitoring of recruitment activities; monitor collection process of information on prospective student athletes' academic credentials; assist in monitoring team travel and related policies; assist in auditing sport team records, e.g. CARA hours, travel limits, etc.; assist with overall compliance policy development, reviews, audits and reports; assist in monitoring interns and other compliance support staff; develop self-reports and assist with preparation of NCAA waivers; assist with student-athlete educational programming review student-athlete appearance requests and donation requests; and possible involvement in draft and review of game contracts.

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
One to three years of progressive experience in a NCAA Division I compliance setting at an institutional, conference or national association level and a working knowledge of compliance management processes, issues, considerations and solutions.
Excellent oral and written communication skill with demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of effective and creative rules education and training sessions.
Demonstrates extensive proficiency in using basic office support software (word processing, email, presentation software and spreadsheets)
Working knowledge and ability to:
Utilize NCAA software: LSDBi, Compliance Assistant and R/SRO.
Work constructively and collaboratively in a diverse environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships
Work effectively in a highly-regulated team environment
Juris Doctorate is highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience in contract development.
Working knowledge and the ability to:
Utilize online compliance management systems such as Front Rush and Teamworks (please specify).
Utilize social media software and manage content (please specify media experience).
Meet or exceed customer service needs and expectations with permissible alternative solutions within the intent of the rules.
Demonstrated compliance management experience with a high profile sport and confidential information in a high pressure environment.
