Perform all coaching duties necessary for maintaining a competitive volleyball program. Create, direct, coach, and maintain a quality program which will attract students to attend TVCC and become involved with athletic programs. Impart concepts of coaching theory to student athletes. Must be capable of effectively motivating, teaching, and supervising students. Assist in coordinating transportation for games, housing, and meal plans. Mange all planning and execution of workouts and daily practices. Coordinate recruitment of athletes. Conduct individual counseling sessions with team members involving athletic, personal, and academic issues. Assist student athletes with academic advising and registration processes including financial aid. Monitor academic progress of student athletes. Assume responsibility for team conduct on and off the court. Manage the budget of the program for the offering of athletic scholarships and procurement of equipment and supplies necessary to operate the program. Supply information assistance in the preparation of media guides; ensure the website and social media are current; be available for interviews and speaking engagements. Responsible for adhering to all rules and regulations set forth for the team, the College, Title IX, and NJCAA with the upmost integrity. Teach assigned classes according to approved course syllabi and minimum competencies. May be assigned to teach distance learning classes via tele-course or Internet. Participate in curriculum development, including the establishment of departmental learning outcomes, and the reporting of learning outcomes results as required by departmental procedures. Attend all faculty meetings, commencements, and other special meetings called by the athletic director, division chairperson, associate vice presidents, vice president of instruction, or the president. Must maintain a professional relationship with students and peers. Keep the administration informed regarding matters affecting the welfare of students, faculty, and the institution. Serve as member of committees. Maintains confidentiality of information. Other duties as assigned by the athletic director or other appropriate supervisory personnel.
Master’s degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in the teaching discipline preferred. Minimum of three years coaching/teaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred. The employee will be required to complete an annual NJCAA Compliance Exam and fully comply with NJCAA rules and regulations.
