Job Summary: Assist the Director of the Maverick Club with increasing the engagement, stewardship and growth of donors to the athletic department (Maverick Club members) and provide key administrative support. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and implement donor relations and stewardship strategies for the Maverick Club including the thank you process and other stewardship opportunities. Coordinate and oversee Maverick Club and athletic department special events including logistical planning and implementation of events including, but not limited to, Hall of Honor Banquet, First Pitch Fundraiser, Maverick Open, Athletic Alumni reunions, Maverick Club game day and community based opportunities. Responsible for managing administrative functions for the Maverick Club, including revenue reporting, Raiser’s Edge maintenance, gift processing, travel processing, and invoice coordination and payment. Manage the letter winner and athletic alumni program including the distribution of letter winner awards, implementing athletic alumni engagement opportunities, and serving as point of contact for athletic alumni. Facilitate community appearances for the Athletic Director and Head Coaches toward increasing Maverick Club awareness, engagement and support. Oversee Maverick Club GA’s/interns. Manage Maverick Club’s online presence, including website content updates. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience in higher education. Applicants must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Applicants must be a self-starter with an extremely high attention to detail, while possessing the ability to prioritize workload for timely completion of important tasks. Must be able to maintain confidential information and work unconventional hours, weekends and holidays when events require it. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple project deadlines is paramount. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred qualifications: Minimum one year experience in a development/fundraising, university, or non-profit environment. Advanced knowledge of computer technology, including the ability to use specialized software packages for spreadsheets, graphics, word processing and database management. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and other common office systems. Willingness to learn new software including database programs and preference given to candidates with CRM expertise. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy office and environment with a professional demeanor. Excellent customer service skills. Outstanding time management skills are essential and ability to handle stressful and fast paced environment.
