Summary: The Director of Video Services is responsible for all media activities within Wake Forest Athletics. This position will be the department’s chief videographer and will create engaging content for our fan base across multiple platforms and sports. This content will cover staged video shoots, live game action, press conferences, highlights, video board and commercial spots. This position will work closely alongside the ACC Network, Marketing, Communications and others to strive to reach the goals of the athletic department and develop champions.
Responsible for the majority of the content created for all in venue big board shows Responsible for uploading all content from Marketing, IMG and others for game day or special events Responsible for building and maintaining corporate relationships with technology vendors in order to continually improve athletic technology platforms Manage day to day operations and service of Daktronics equipment Create original content to tell on and off the field stories, showing the full student athlete experience for athletic social media accounts and other strategic distribution Responsible for creating video content (intro videos, headshots, hype videos etc.) for in-game presentation Responsible for creating video content to support campaigns for Strategic Communications, athletic department sponsors, special projects and features Capture, log and supervise archiving process of all sports using specific formatting Provide post season coverage (ACC Tournament, NCAA Tournament) for all sports Provide timely, accurately and complete delivery of multimedia content to various platforms Manage live streaming of Press Conferences, web conferences, video and audio conferences Maintain asset database for all athletic multimedia assets Manage pre-season assessment and operational checks of all assets in McCreary Tower and BB&T Field, LJVM Coliseum, WFBP, Spry Soccer Stadium, Kentner Stadium, Budd Gym, Golf Learning Center, Miller Center, Reynolds Gym, and the tennis complex Provide all video support for end of year banquet (Black & Golden Globes) as well as Student Athlete Development throughout the year Serve as Wake Forest point of contact for ACC Advanced Media necessities Manage contracts for online music licensing service Serve as liaison between Wake Forest University Video and Program Coordinator of Sports Media & Storytelling Supervises the video services staff and direct student workers on game day Manages part time subcontract labor for video board shows Research and plan for strategic departmental goals as well as brainstorming for future opportunities and initiatives to improve the Video Services department Performs other related duties as assigned
BA or BS in related field with 3 to 5 years related experience with a collegiate athletic department, sports team or agency. Knowledge and experience of producing big board shows in athletic venues, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite including but not limited to Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition and Media Encoder. Must have experience organizing and conducting training. Management experience in a supervisory position charged with oversight of department goals as well as maintenance of essential equipment. Online portfolio/reel that demonstrates expertise in shooting and editing.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to supervise student employees and game day employees plus the ability to manage personnel and finance
Excellent written and oral communications skills, superior telephone etiquette and ability to deal effectively with students, faculty and staff, television networks, as well as peers and management
Ability to supervise video production from pre-production, through post-production including planning, scripting, storyboarding, shooting and editing
Ability to operate studio equipment for in house shows including but not limited to video switchers, replay systems and graphics
Ability to work in high pressure situations and manage multiple complex projects as well as a working familiarity with video board display technologies, editing and capture technology
Familiarity with Wake Forest campus, athletics, and off site competition venues or ability to acquire such knowledge
Ability to acquire knowledge of any current and future systems as well as train others on those systems
Knowledge of superior customer service standards and practices
Ability to work after hours and/or weekends and on-call, as specified by supervisor
Valid driver license with good driving record; must be insurable
Knowledge of ACC/NCAA regulations

Supervise all game day production personnel for video board shows and sideline shooting
Manage and supervise students and interns
