Bethany College in West Virginia is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Director of Student-Athlete Success. This position will report to the Director of Athletics and Recreation and is funded by the NCAA Women & Ethnic Minority Internship Grant.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Coordinate the student-athlete academic support services offered;
Create and lead an early intervention program for first year students to build strategies for student academic success;
Conduct and assess team study halls, advising sessions, and academic interventions;
In coordination with the Director of Athletics, Provost and Director of the Ponton Mentorship Program, develop and implement leadership programming to train mentors to support our diverse student-athlete population;
Serve on the Athletic Department leadership team;
Set up weekly meetings with academically at-risk students to coordinate positive outcomes;
Serve on the campus-wide retention and persistence committee as the Athletic Department representative;
Plan and conduct workshops to help coaches, faculty advisors, and other staff train to better work with students from diverse, minority, or economically challenged backgrounds navigate college life and procedures;
Represent Bethany College at appropriate professional meetings;
Perform other duties as assigned.

A valid driver's license and Bachelor’s Degree is required. Minimum three years working within an intercollegiate athletic department or former student-athlete is preferred. Knowledge of and adherence to Bethany, NCAA Division III and Presidents' Athletic Conference regulations are also required. A Masters degree in an appropriate field would be considered a plus.
