University of Arkansas at Monticello Athletic Department Assistant Athletic Director for Game Operations and Facilities
The University of Arkansas at Monticello (www.uamont.edu) is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Game Operations and Facilities. This is a full-time, non-tenure appointment.
This position serves as Assistant Athletic Director and implements programs/initiatives for UAM athletics and may serve as administrative contact in the Athletic Director’s absence. Oversees all aspects of game day operations for ten NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics programs at UAM as well as day-to-day operations of facilities. Responsibilities: The Assistant Athletic Director for Game Operations and Facilities reports directly to the Director of Athletics and the duties and responsibilities will be as follows: •Oversee facilities, event and room set-ups/tear-downs, repairs, facility security, key management, equipment inventory and replacement of furnishings, administration of emergency and safety programs and direction to grounds and custodial staff; •Serve as part of the Athletics Departments administrative team; •Monitors athletic facilities and appropriately responds to facility issues in a timely manner including ensuring security of facilities and involvement with general facility use and access policies; •Event management of designated seasonal sports and post-season events/championships; •Supervision, hiring and training of event staff including student-workers; •Provide assistance in developing policies and procedures related to facilities; •Responsible for development and implementation of business plan for external revenues from arena and facility rentals; work with external groups to coordinate facility rentals; serve as on-site point of contact; •Administrative and budgetary oversight of facilities unit; •Work with the Assistant Athletics Director to assist with implementation needs of corporate partnership programs; •Contributes to the maintenance of good working relationships with all staff, student-athletes, and external constituents through (a) a positive and constructive approach to all tasks, (b) respect for the competencies of others, and (c) appropriate conflict resolution behavior; •Other duties as assigned; and •Night and weekend hours are required.
Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree is required; master’s degree is preferred. Perform all job duties in a manner consistent with NCAA, conference and University. Two years’ experience in facility and event management. Knowledge of building systems, maintenance supervision and facilities operation. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others.
