Fontbonne University, a Catholic coeducational institution, sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, offering both bachelors and masters degrees, seeks qualified individuals for a full time Associate Athletic Director. Fontbonne is a member of NCAA Division III and the Saint Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC).
The Associate AD will serve on the senior athletic leadership team advising the Director of Athletics on departmental matters. The Associate AD will develop and provide a variety of training to student-athletes and staff. The incumbent in this position will have formal supervisory responsibility for multiple employees, sports, and additional areas beyond his/her area of formal supervisory responsibilities. The Associate AD will also assist with departmental fundraising. Additional duties may include game management and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. The position reports to Director of Athletics.
Expectations and Responsibilities
Supervising assigned sports, staff members and other areas
Serving as an integral member of the senior athletic leadership team
Advising the Director of Athletics of all concerns related to athletics
Assisting with fund-raising efforts of the Athletic Department
Developing and coordinating a variety of training for student-athletes and coaches including but not limited to leadership, inclusion, sportsmanship, academic achievement, etc.
Serving on internal and external committees
Assisting with game management for select sports as needed
Representing Fontbonne University at appropriate professional meetings
Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends with some potential for out of town work
Three or more years athletic administrative experience
Partial funding of this position is through the NCAA Ethnic Minorities and Women's Internship Grant.
