Wisconsin Lutheran College, a NCAA III member of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and offering 19 varsity sports, is seeking qualified applicants for its Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant position. The position is a two-year appointment, beginning July 1, 2019.
The graduate assistant will assist the Director of Athletic Communications with the promotion and publicity of the college’s 19 varsity sports. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, writing and editing press releases, games stories and game previews; producing athletics publications such as game programs, recruiting guides, and brochures; managing content on the athletics website (WLCSports.com); compiling and distributing statistics; producing interview and highlight videos; maintaining Wisconsin Lutheran College’s athletics social media accounts; managing home game events; athletics building supervision; and operating computer programs including Adobe InDesign, Adobe PhotoShop, and StatCrew software.
A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in journalism, public relations, or a related field; Admission into Wisconsin Lutheran College’s Master of Arts in Education graduate program is required; Previous work in a collegiate sports information office is preferred; Experience and knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe PhotoShop, and StatCrew software is essential.
$7,500 stipend and two-thirds tuition remission. Weekly meal stipend also included.
