Graduate Assistant (Broadcast Services)

The University of Mississippi Broadcast Services Department is seeking one (1) graduate assistant for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years. This unique position will allow for selected candidates to gain hands-on experience in the intercollegiate sports industry while assisting Ole Miss Broadcast Services in its SEC Network broadcasts, both on the ESPN Digital Platform as well as Linear broadcasts on the ESPN family of networks. Job Responsibilities (examples of work performed and essential functions) Assist in the day-to-day functions of Ole Miss Broadcast Services Assigned as the primary Associate Producer for all SEC Network/ESPN Broadcasts Help to identify and conceptualize potential profile-worthy stories by researching both home and away teams for broadcasts Aid in the setup of all broadcast equipment for LIVE events Support the Producers/Directors of Ole Miss Broadcast Services as needed in all phases of productions. Work in the production of live events serving as Associate Producer (AP) working with graphics operators and bug operators selling stories and graphics support for the show Producer. Creation of in-game graphics, lower thirds, and full screen content for live broadcasts for SEC Network/ESPN shows. Other duties as assigned Compensation: This is a (9-12) month position that can be renewed an additional year; $1,115 per month stipend position, Graduate School scholarship to cover 100% of regular Graduate School tuition and non-resident fee. Candidate will also receive an Athletics scholarship for their capitol improvement fee and an allotment for books.
