The Director of Ticket Sales must be able to strategically design and implement a comprehensive ticket sales and operations plan to support the University’s Intercollegiate Athletics programs. This position directs the entire Department’s outbound ticket sales efforts. The Director of Ticket Sales’ primary responsibility is to attract external funds to the department in the form of ticket sales for both men’s and women’s basketball. The Director will conduct research and analyze data as needed to formulate ticketing plans and revenue projections.
This position will also be responsible for the cultivation and stewardship of donors to The Spartan Club, the fundraising arm of Spartan Athletics, focusing on season ticket holders who are not currently members.
Functional Areas of Emphasis: Revenue Generation/Ticket Sales Merchandise and Fundraising
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with Senior Associate AD for External Operations to determine Ticket Office Annual Budget.
Manage all aspects of the ticket office to include staffing needs.
Schedule ticket office away game travel needs.
Oversee ticket office software to ensure proper maintenance, upgrades, hardware and software issues are resolved and contractual obligations are fulfilled.
Work with ticket software vendor and UNCG IT department to ensure software, hardware and network compatibility is functioning together to deliver best possible customer service.
Estimate and order ticket stock.
Game day Ticket manager for all athletic events.
Coordinate operations with visiting teams.
Ensure fulfillment process and timely completion of goals related to ticket deadlines.
Strategically design and implement a comprehensive ticketing plan with a primary focus on revenue generation.
Maximize ticket revenue by increasing paid attendance for men’s and women’s basketball.
Strategically design and implement a comprehensive merchandise plan to achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales goals.
Accurately track merchandise inventory.
Monitor sales and develop a reordering system to reduce excess inventory.
Work with Director of Compliance to ensure all procedures related to student-athlete ticketing adhere to NCAA requirements.
Ensure that all ticket office procedures related to youth ticketing are in compliance with NCAA guidelines for prospective student-athletes.
Under direction from the Senior Associate AD for External Operations. This individual is responsible for following policies and procedures of the University, Southern Conference and the NCAA in day-to-day operations of the unit.
