Serve as Aquatic and Age Group Program Director/Assistant Swim Coach under the direction of the Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities/Event Management and the Head Swim Coach by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate workers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned. 1.Understand and agree to abide by the mission of CBU and the CBU Athletics Department. 2.Supervise all aspects of the Aquatics Facility, including but not limited to: facility scheduling, lifeguard scheduling, outside group rental, etc. 3.Serve as an assistant swim coach with travel with the team as available depending upon the home facility schedule. 4.Direct all aspects of the age group swim program. 5.Responsible for certifying all Athletics coaches with the CPR/First Aid certification programs. 6.To plan and execute the plans to maintain the swimming pool to quality standards that meet government and health requirements. 7.Performs minor repairs to pool equipment as needed. 8.Monitor chemical treatments, clean and back flush filters. 9.Keep pool area clean and free from any hazards. 10.Maintains records on all pool processes to assure proper control. 11.Purchases supplies as needed and maintains MSDS records. 12.Supervises Lifeguards schedules and duties. 13.Prepares required reports for Maintenance and Athletics. 14.Responsible for submission of yearly budget and keep current on all expenditures to ensure compliance with budget. 15.Supervise all home aquatic events. 16.Have knowledge of, and abide by, institutional, NCAA and conference rules for event management and game environment including set-up and event protocol. 17.Maintain up-to-date information of sport regulations, rule changes and NCAA policies. Report any compliance issues regarding countable athletically related activities (CARA), or student-athlete welfare. 18.Work with Associate Director of Athletics in setting goals and objectives for the department and act in a wise manner when the Director is not available. 19.Effectively manage time in a demanding work environment. 20.Respond to all administrative correspondence in the requested time frame and attend all staff meetings. 21.Ensure the safety, physical, emotional and social welfare of student-athletes.
Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. ?Knowledge of pool maintenance procedures, including chemical treatment, sanitizing, cleaning, filtration systems, problem diagnosis, draining, etc. ?Skill with the use of pool maintenance tools, chemicals and equipment. ?Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. ?Ability to make administrative, and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues. ?A thorough knowledge of: Business English and arithmetic; general office methods, procedures and practices. ?Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position. ?Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. ?Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body. ?Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. ?Strong organizational skills and detail oriented. ?Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. ?Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. ?Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures. ?Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns. ?Responsible for adherence of all employees to all conference and NCAA rules and bylaws. ?Effectively manage all home contests according to conference and NCAA requirements and keep schedules current and available for review.
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and three to four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPR, First Aid and U.S. Coaching Certification required. Athletic experience in Swimming, previous coaching experience preferred.
