Assist the Associate Athletic Director and Assistant Director for Compliance with various issues to ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations; Duties include implementing, educating, monitoring and enforcing compliance policies and procedures related to NCAA, Conference and TAMUCC regulations, including personnel limitations, amateurism, recruiting, eligibility, extra benefits, and playing/practice seasons.
Essential Functions: •Under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Director for Compliance maintains all policies and procedures to best ensure NCAA Division I compliance. •Weekly attendance at Compliance Staff Meetings and conference calls. •Assists with monitoring compliance with all applicable University, NCAA, and Southland Conference rules, regulations and policies. •Work in conjunction with the Assistant Director for Compliance on education, monitoring and enforcement of all University, SLC, and NCAA Division I rules and regulations. •Assist in the documentation and monitoring of adherence to NCAA recruiting rules. •Utilize Compliance Assistant Software (CAi) and ACS to input student-athlete and team data. •Perform research on rule interpretations and education columns on the NCAA Legislative Services Database (LSDBi). •Help research and compile materials for Coaches’ rules education sessions, and other compliance educational materials (newsletters, etc.). •Assist in the administration of the National Letter of Intent program. •Other projects and duties as assigned. •Establishes cooperative working relationships with persons from diverse backgrounds and at various organizational levels within and outside the University. •Assists with the preparation of presentations and reports. •Monitors practice verification of each sport. •Assist Assistant Director for Compliance with all rules education efforts. •Administer and process student-athlete compliance forms. •Assist with drafting NCAA waivers and appeals
