Arizona Athletics is seeking a driven, energetic development officer. The principal objective of the position is to assist the Wildcat Club Development office with major gift donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship residing in Maricopa County, Arizona. This is an annually appointed, full-time, benefits eligible position. The position is jointly managed by the Athletics Department and the University Development Program, which is managed under contract by the University of Arizona Foundation. The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Wildcat Club Development Team and will personally and professionally exhibit the mission of Arizona Athletics by planning, organizing, and implementing strategies to increase the level of personal involvement and financial commitment of alumni and friends. •Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gift donor prospects with a significant focus on the greater Phoenix area as well as other western states with the following initial annual goals: 250 in-person visits, 30 asked gift proposals and a 95% renewal of current Wildcat Club members •Manage a Paciolan donor portfolio of 400-500 prospects and a Raiser’s Edge donor portfolio of 20-30 prospects •Assist in the stewardship, cultivation, and relationship building efforts of all current Wildcat Club members and season ticket holders •Generate reports that document donor contacts and gift proposal/solicitation activity. Regularly document actions utilizing CRM, Paciolan, Sales Force and Domo Systems. •Increase the visibility of Arizona Athletics and the Wildcat Club and provide enhanced customer service to all season ticket holders, alumni and friends through various avenues of communication (e.g. hand written notes, letters, email blasts, etc.) •Attend all home football and select men’s basketball games as well as various special events to represent the Athletics Department throughout the year •Assist individuals who are interested in purchasing tickets and/or joining the Wildcat Club •Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor’s degree • Two years fundraising experience or equivalent • Excellent communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to create personal relationships • Ability to understand and work within budgetary procedures, policies, and restrictions • Ability to work with academic and administration staff members • Ability to operate basic office machinery (fax machines, computer, telephone, etc.)
