Assistant Director of Athletic Advancement is responsible for all aspects of growing, communicating, delivering benefits and development cycle progression for the Eagles Club (Athletics booster club with current $1.6M fiscal budget) annual fund. Coordinates the planning, supervision, creation, implementation, and post-event budgetary accounting of all special event fund-raising activities for the Athletics Department. Serves as direct point of contact and coordinator of the volunteer Eagles Club Advisory Board (comprised of professionals throughout Southwest Florida) and including the Wings Up Women ancillary group. The position works independently to organize and coordinate all aspects of hospitality for the Eagles Club. Also assists in the identification and cultivation of donors for capital, unrestricted, programmatic gifts, as well as annual and endowed scholarship benefactors.
Essential Job Duties
Coordinates all aspects of the Eagles Club. The critically important annual fund that benefits FGCU programs, coaches and student-athletes.
Markets and promotes the Eagles Club membership drive via phone solicitation, email, special events and presentations.
Serves as point person and expert for the Priority Points program. Assists current and prospective Eagles Club members with the program benefits, approves and processes expenditures (invoices for payment), receives credit card payment through a shared software with the Ticket Office. Must be PCI compliant.
Delivers Eagles Club membership cards, parking passes, season tickets and other benefits.
Updates and maintains the database of existing and prospective members. Prepares and implements strategies to expand prospect base and to identify opportunities for donor cultivation and stewardship.
Handles the planning, supervision, and implementation of high profile and special fund-raising events that support NCAA scholarships and the Athletic Department.
Organizes stewardship events for donors and prospects (golf tournaments, luncheons, award ceremonies, auctions, tailgating events, and annual Night at the Nest).
Coordinates campus event logistics and attends meetings to manage details.
Establishes location reservation and coordinates agreements with vendors. Seeks out local corporate sponsorship and guest speakers.
Organizes the Wings up Women Committee to help fund and support women in athletics. Develops mentoring program and leads fund-raising efforts through networking events and luncheons.
Coordinates the Eagles Club Board of Advisors meetings, attends all monthly meetings, takes minutes, disseminates information to the Advisory Board members, and follows up on old and new business.
With direction from the Associate AD for Advancement develops strategies and goals for the Eagles Club and Special Events.
Collaborates with the Associate AD for Advancement, Director of Compliance, and coaches to coordinate the Athletic Donor Scholarship Program.
Works with the advancement staff to report the use of donor’s gifts; manage the celebration of gifts; and facilitate the meetings between donors and scholarship beneficiaries.
Responsible for the third floor and Hospitality Suite hospitality services for donors during basketball season. Lead person for suites for marque games.
Serves as the Advancement liaison for the Athletic Ticket Office. Provides concierge services to donors and season ticket holders requesting ticket upgrades and other accommodations.
Collaboratively works with Sports Information Department to update and maintain the Eagles Club and Athletics Development websites. Coordinates the design and production of publications, invitations, programs, and brochures.
Develops budget recommendations and reports. Prepares budget requests or written narrative.
As a condition of this appointment, you agree to comply with all university, ASUN Conference, or Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) regulations, as well as all NCAA rules and regulations. It is your responsibility to remain current with all changes in NCAA, as well as changes to university, ASUN and CCSA rules and regulations regarding intercollegiate athletics. This includes the requirement of self-reporting any possible rule violations and participation in the annual NCAA continuing education programs. Further, you are advised that any violation of NCAA rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
Two years of professional full-time experience related to fundraising and event coordination.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout the country.
Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
