William & Mary (Division I) is seeking an outstanding individual to fill this critical role.
Preferred qualifications include: EDUCATION: Advanced Degree (preferably a Master’s degree) in Business or other related field.
COMPETENCIES: • Knowledge or familiarity with event planning and or coordination. • Familiarity with the Advance database is a plus. • Familiarity with William and Mary Athletics.
EXPERIENCE: • College Development gift experience is highly preferred. • Experience drafting and executing creative region-wide donor and prospect strategies is highly desirable. • Experience working in a higher education or nonprofit setting. • Experience with volunteer board management. • Experience working in a metrics-driven organization.
This position requires extensive travel for the purpose of visiting donors and prospects. This position will report to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development. • Bachelor’s degree with experience or specialized expertise directly related to the position.
COMPETENCIES: • Experience in fundraising, volunteer management and/or sales and with an understanding of volunteer management and its role in fundraising. • Track record of reaching aggressive goals and ability to solicit and secure private gifts. • Fundraising experience with the demonstrated ability to identify, qualify and cultivate prospective donors or clients. • Demonstrates problem solving skills with the ability to develop solutions to roadblocks and exercise sound judgments when making decisions. • Proficiency in a variety of software applications, and proficiency in MS Office suite. • Demonstrates strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse constituency. • Knowledge of the function of volunteer boards and senior level volunteers.
Additional Salary Information: Anticipated hiring range will be approximately $45,920, depending on qualifications.
