The Director of Athletics Marketing & Promotions is responsible for promoting the FPU Athletics brand in an effort to increase attendance, generate revenue, and maximize the game-day fan experience. The position will oversee marketing and promotional efforts for 15 intercollegiate programs, while coordinating game-day promotional activities and the implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan. Other responsibilities include enhancing the department’s visibility in the community, collaborating with other departments on the FPU campus, playing a lead role in athletics fundraising, helping to promote major annual athletic events and assisting with FPU Athletics event management. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics.

Service •Develops collegiate athletic marketing plans and promotion schedules for FPU’s 15 intercollegiate teams. •Implements marketing plans and promotes the FPU brand in an effort to increase attendance, generate revenue and maximize the game-day fan experience. •Establishes and implements procedures for sale and distribution of athletics season ticket, single game and group sales campaigns to achieve departmental goals. •Assists in the successful execution of corporate sponsorship elements in conjunction with University Advancement •Develops creative strategies to engage students and increase awareness, attendance, and affinity for athletics programs. •While collaborating with University Advancement, actively seeks to engage and develop new relationships in the surrounding community to grow exposure and affinity for Fresno Pacific Athletics. •Develops creative campaigns designed to support ticket sales with corresponding promotional and advertising strategies for FPU Athletics. •Creates and implements game entertainment scripts for assigned sports. Oversees and coordinates the implementation of all game atmosphere elements including game entertainment and sponsor-related activities •Controls and monitors, as directed by the Director of Athletics, the distribution of complimentary tickets in accordance with established policies of the department of athletics, the Pacific West Conference and the NCAA. •Assists the Assistant A.D. for Event Operations & Facilities in record-keeping of ticket sales to ensure compliance with university and NCAA guidelines. •Supports the promotion of FPU athletics events by working collaboratively with athletics communications staff. (This also includes major fundraising events i.e. Sunbird Golf Classic, Dinner on the Diamond etc.) •Cultivates relationships across campus to collaborate and implement projects that are mutually beneficial. •Researches growing trends in the industry by collecting and analyzing data to continually enhance job functionality and goals. •Assists in development of comprehensive social media content that utilizes marketing techniques to increase visibility and traffic across all social media platforms •Works with Student Life, University Communications & Marketing, Enrollment Marketing, Advancement, Alumni Relations and other departments on campus as well as various groups (i.e. band, cheerleaders, etc.) to enhance school spirit, tradition and affinity. •Serves as liaison with the official student athletic group “The Birdcage” •Serves as the Director of the Sunbird Club. The Director of the Sunbird Club reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for the leadership of the Sunbird Club along with helping to facilitate Sunbird Club fundraising. •Works to enhance alumni relations through promoting and coordinating alumni games & fundraising events. •Other duties as assigned
Demonstrated personal Christian faith and commitment to the Christian mission of the university
Experience in collegiate, professional and/or corporate sports marketing, corporate sales, and/or fundraising.
Knowledge of marketing and promotions practices
Effective professional, organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Customer service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Master's degree from an accredited institution
Marketing and promotions experience at the intercollegiate level
Prior experience in a higher education environment
