The Athletic Director is responsible for the administration and supervision of all aspect of the University's Athletic Program, including: intercollegiate men's and women's varsity sports, intramural sports, recreation, wellness activities, facilities oversight, hiring and supervision of all athletics staff, and overall fiscal management. Lesley University is a NCAA Division III institution and a member of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC); the Director is responsible for all areas of compliance and for ensuring that the athletic program meets all NCAA and NECC guidelines and requirements. •Work to integrate and administer a high quality athletics program that is complimentary to the academic mission and philosophy of the University and in line with the policies regarding student life in and out of the classroom. •Monitor, with the Dean of Student Life, Faculty Athletic Representative, and other staff NCAA compliance as it applies to the student athlete concept, the principles governing intercollegiate athletics, gender equity, NCAA Division III and conference regulations and legislation. •Recruit, hire and supervise all Athletics Department staff and all coaches and trainers. •Manage and oversee all aspects of the Athletics Budget. •Attend mandatory NCAA annual convention and mandatory quarterly NECC conference meetings. •Participate in conversations associated with the athletics program, including working with University personnel to arrange for contractual arrangements and monitoring activities to ensure adherence to facility agreements. •Develop, implement and monitor student athlete recruiting strategies in concert with the Admissions Offices that demonstrate a cohesive approach and philosophy to student recruitment. Monitor the involvement of coaches in student recruitment activities. •Work with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement to develop fundraising initiatives to provide on-going support for the Athletic Program. •Assure that all personnel necessary for collegiate contests are appropriately arranged, including officials, umpires, referees, trainers, and all other support personnel. Assure that schedules for collegiate contests are arranged in a timely fashion and in accordance with NCAA guidelines. •Monitor professional and coaching staff to ensure that their actions are consistent with the University's commitment to all students, and that they understand their role as members of the University community.

Three - five years of experience as an assistant, associate or director of an athletics department.
Experience overseeing or managing a college/university athletics program and staff.
Experience coaching at the college or university level.
An understanding of NCAA rules and compliance requirements, including requirement for recruiting student athletes.
Experience managing a departmental budget.
Experience leading diverse populations of students and staff.
Must be authorized to work in the United States; if you hold a visa, your visa status must allow you to work at Lesley University.
