University of Arkansas at Monticello Athletic Department Director of Athletic Communications
The University of Arkansas at Monticello (www.uamont.edu) is seeking applicants for the position of Director of Athletic Communications. This is a full-time, non-tenure appointment.
Responsibilities: Duties include leading the athletic department’s publicity efforts with news releases, feature stories, game recaps, etc.; distributing information to local, state, regional and national media; serving as on-campus host for all intercollegiate athletic events and coordinating media coverage for those events; designing, writing and editing game programs and other promotional publications for athletics; maintaining athletic records and statistical files; maintaining and updating the athletic website; producing strategic content (stories, photos, videos, etc.) for www.UAMsports.com and social media outlets; promoting student-athletes, coaches and staff members for honors and awards; hiring and managing a staff of student assistants; and serving as the athletic department contact with the Great American Conference and NCAA.
Qualifications: A baccalaureate’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field required. Preference will given to applicants with at least two years of related experience in a collegiate or professional athletics setting; and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and StatCrew.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience including excellent fringe benefits.
