Under the supervision and direction of the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance and the Associate Athletic Director of Compliance, the Compliance Assistant will assist the Athletics Compliance Office primarily with its monitoring efforts and also with rules education. This includes assisting with monitoring of recruiting activities, complimentary admissions, playing and practice seasons, coaching duties/limitations, camps and clinics, and awards. The position will assist in preparing rules and educational materials and with the coordination of compliance educational presentations for coaches, staff, student-athletes, and outside entities.
Completion of a high school program or its equivalent and some experience in an office environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
At least 6 months experience working in a Division I NCAA compliance office.
Basic knowledge of NCAA, conference, and SDSU rules, especially in the area of recruiting.
Previous experience as an NCAA student-athlete.
Experience with NCAA’s LSDBi and RSRO systems.
Ability to organize and plan work and projects.
Ability to create and maintain a database, track information, and report statistics.
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, with a broad spectrum of people.
Additional Salary Information: This is a part-time (.75 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before 6/30/2019, with the possibility of reappointment and/or permanency. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Work hours will be determined based on operational needs.
