The Purdue Research Foundation has an opening for a Director of Development for Intercollegiate Athletics. This position will be responsible to identify and establish personal contact with current and prospective donors, making a minimum of 150 face-to-face personal visits annually, including a minimum of 50 discovery visits; advance relationships with prospective donors through appropriate stages of qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship; prepare proposals and solicit prospects for annual gifts and for major gifts to secure a minimum annual goal of $2M toward the unit’s fundraising goals; collaborate with appropriate development and department staff to develop prospect strategies and build relationships; and direct/coordinate stewardship activities for major donors as requested.
Requirements for this position include a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years in the development field, including solcitation of gifts in a non-profit environment. Additional requirements include a high level of motivation with strong relationship building skills and a demonstrated capacity for leadership, organization, and teamwork; strong conceptual understanding of development, public relations, and marketing; and the ability and willingness to travel.
This position is located on the Purdue University campus in West Lafayette, IN.
