Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Coordinator of Facilities and Events for The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position is under the immediate direction of the Assistant Athletic Director, Facilities and Events. The Coordinator of Facilities and Events assists in the provision of the logistical and programmatic support needs and requests of the Olympic sports’ programs as well as responsible for securing and monitoring activities in the Hale Center, Football Stadium, Busch/Livingston Athletic Fields, Indoor Training Facility (Bubble),Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium and Athletic Center Complex. Among the key duties of the position are the following: • Responsible for securing the Hale Center, Football Stadium, Busch Athletic Fields, Indoor Training Facility (Bubble), Athletic Center Complex and Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium during assigned time periods. Hale Center/Football Stadium Complex includes Club, Press Box, Football Offices, Training/Medical Area and various team locker rooms. • Monitors activities in these facilities in accordance with the schedule for team practices, outside group usage and Athletic Division meetings and banquets. • Assists with updating the scheduling database with practice and competition times/locations and meeting/banquet times in the athletic facilities. • Assists with the daily programmatic needs and requests of our Olympic Sports Programs. • Interacts on a daily basis with assigned Olympic Sports Coaches in responding to their programmatic and facility needs and requests. • Handles, carries out and coordinates all aspects of home events for the sports which includes on site supervision of staff and facility preparation. • Coordinates and verifies official’s assignments for all Olympic team sports. • Obtains, develops and maintains opposing team travel itineraries. • Distributes this information to the appropriate departments. • Scheduling programs which monitors all events, games, practices, etc. held within our facilities. • Handles the distribution and coordination of travel and practices for visiting teams and verifies officials’ assignments.
• Requires a bachelor’s degree preferably in sports management or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. • Also requires a minimum of two years’ experience that includes coordination and experience in an athletic environment, preferably intercollegiate athletics.
• Good communication and time management skills • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Excel and Word. • Knowledge of using a computerized scheduling program
• This position will work nights and weekends.
• Primary hours of coverage will be afternoons/evenings and weekends. • This position will work 11:00a-7:00p as its normal scheduled hours.
