The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Michigan State University is looking for a Spartan Vision Digital Producer to serve as a producer/director for a sports documentary show and create journalistic, marketing, publicity and other featured content for Michigan State Athletics. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Co-Produce/Direct/Edit weekly Spartan All-Access television shows
Edit recaps, highlights, press conferences and player features for internet and in-venue distribution
Assist producers (conceptualize, shoot, write, edit) in creating content for Michigan State Athletics’ various entities.
Work with and assist in training students to work in the post-production field
Help design strategies to help maximize the message of Michigan State Athletics to fans and potential fans across all mediums
Fill network, local and internal footage requests
Stay up-to date on latest broadcasting trends, technology and industry changes
Ensure consistent and appropriate use of the Michigan State Athletic brand, and adhere to the Big Ten Conference ancillary media rights agreement

A bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in video production or journalism; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent writing and communication skills
Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays (non-standard work schedule)
Independent self-starter who strives to be the best at all aspects of their job
Excellent interpersonal communication skills with an ability to interact professionally with employees, student-athletes and fans
Team-oriented individual with strong problem solving skills
Skilled in recording and encoding various formats of audio and video
Able to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy equipment and materials weighing up to 40 lbs, and work in tight or confining spaces.
Occasional team or production related travel throughout the year is required
Experience editing and working with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.)
Previous social media and journalism experience
Prior work experience with either collegiate or professional teams
