Regis University’s Department of Athletics is seeking applicants for a Graduate Assistant position in its Sports Information office. The graduate assistant will provide essential support services for a 12 sport NCAA Division II athletic department.
The position will report directly to the Sports Information Director and will perform tasks as assigned, including but not limited to: serving as a primary media contact for men’s and women’s soccer, baseball and women's lacrosse; assist in event coverage of home events (statistical compilation and public address announcing); writing and editing of press releases; student-athlete biographies and feature stories; website content creation and maintenance for Regis University Athletics page, regisrangers.com; graphic design; contributing to the Rangers social media platforms; assist in the hiring, assignment and supervision of a large student worker group and table staff for home events; assist administrative staff with game-day operations; provide support for live event video streaming; and other duties as assigned.
The graduate assistant is expected to adhere to all NCAA, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and Regis University rules and regulations.
Candidates will have experience in the use of basic Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, StatCrew software and SIDEARM Sports or comparable online content management system
Willingness to work night and weekend hours required along with occasional travel
Candidates should possess strong writing/editing skills, attention to detail and a willingness to work hard and learn. They will have to be able to multi-task in a setting with frequent interruptions. Experience with photorgraphy and video production and graphic design are a plus. Preferred candidate will demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in college athletics.
Consideration for the position is contingent upon successful admission to a Regis University’s master’s program. Interested candidates are encouraged to begin the admissions application immediately. The admissions process for Regis’ graduate programs is completely separate from the application for this position.
Additional Salary Information: The graduate assistant position is a two or three-year assignment beginning with the 2017-18 academic year. The graduate assistant will receive $15,000 in the form of a scholarship to cover tuition, fees and some living expenses.
