The University of Utah is now accepting applications in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics for the position of Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. Utah is a NCAA Division I school and a member of the Pac-12 Conference.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Assistant Director of Athletic Communications will serve as the primary media contact for women’s basketball and women’s tennis while serving as the secondary assistant for football as well as other duties assigned by the Senior Associate A.D. / Director of Communications.

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, 40 hours per week, M-F; varied schedule including nights and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Promotion and support of Utah’s intercollegiate athletic programs; producing online team record books/media guides, game notes, news releases, statistics compilation; generating feature content video and other unique coverage for UtahUtes.com and Pac12.com; establishing and maintaining positive relations with media through strong interpersonal communication skills; staffing home and select away events; supervising student workers and statistical crews; facilitating social media in line with department goals; other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, sport management or a related field. Minimum of three years in a college sports information office.
Working knowledge of Sidearm CMS and various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat); initiative; creativity; ability to work independently; passion for sports; organizational skills.
Excellent communication, proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Word and StatCrew statistical software; basic knowledge of various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine) as well as HTML coding; considerable initiative, creativity, independence and love of sports.
