Head Women’s Basketball Coach/Student –Athlete Success Coordinator
Jefferson College is seeking a Head Women's Basketball Coach/Student-Athlete Success Coordinator. As the Head Women’s Basketball Coach; direct, lead and oversee all coaching/instructing duties for the women’s basketball program, assuring compliance with all NJCAA, Region XVI, and MCCAC rules and regulations as well as Jefferson College policies and procedures. As the Student-Athlete Success Coordinator; provide a comprehensive support program for all student-athletes that will promote academic success, a positive athletic experience and overall personal growth.
Qualifications: 1. Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of sport of basketball. 2. Knowledge, understanding and commitment to the value of intercollegiate athletics at the community college level. 3. Knowledge of athletic recruitment methods and techniques. 4. Knowledge of NJCAA, NAIA, and NCAA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment, retention and matriculation of student-athletes. 5. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in the college and community. 6. Ability to lead and guide student-athletes both athletically and academically. 7. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. 8. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. 9. Ability to work respectfully and effectively in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff. 10. Ability to speak effectively to employees/staff and community organizations. 11. Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s preferred. 12. Minimum of three years of coaching experience required with preference to those individuals who have had collegiate experience as a head coach. 13. Minimum of three years of relevant experience with academic advising, student-athlete mentoring, and/or initial/continuing eligibility.
