WYO-VISION, the Athletics Audio/Visual branch of University of Wyoming Athletics welcomes applications for a “Graduate Assistant – On-Air Talent” position to begin in August of 2017.
Title: Video Production Graduate Assistant – On-Air Talent
Location: University of Wyoming Athletics, Laramie, WY
Duration: Position runs for the academic year (mid-August to early May) Position may be renewed on an annual basis. Expected starting date is around August 23rd, 2017.
Compensation: The GA will receive a waiver of tuition and fees for up to 9 credit hours in a graduate program. The position includes a stipend of $12,708 a year offered September to May in monthly payments. Student health insurance is also available through the university.
Responsibilities: The GA will serve the following functions and report to the Director of Video Production. - Conceive, produce and serve as the on-air talent for various segments to be posted on various mediums, including GoWYO.com and Wyoming Athletics social media accounts - Conduct on-camera interviews for various features and packages - Serve as play-by-play talent for broadcasts of Wyoming Volleyball, Soccer & Women’s Basketball on the Mountain West Network - Produce other segments, features and packages for website, social media and other formats - Help with daily logging and archiving of athletics footage - Other duties as assigned by Director of Video Production The University of Wyoming is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. To be considered, the applicant must meet the following qualifications.
Fully-admitted into a UW Graduate program.
At least 1 year of experience in athletics video production, specifically serving as on-air talent
Must be available on weekends and some holidays
Highly motivated and a self-starter
Ability to work independently and make decisions quickly
The following qualifications are preferred but not required.
At least 1 year of experience in NCAA Division 1 Athletics
Experience in hosting on-air programs or segments
Experience in performing play-by-play duties for various sports including Basketball, Soccer and Volleyball
Experience with ENG style professional camcorders or DSLR handheld cameras
Experience with NewTek Tricaster or similar production switcher
Experience with NewTek 3Play or similar replay system
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite CC or similar software suite
