Monitors student athlete recruiting process and initial eligibility of athletes being recruited. Assists with preparation of squad lists and other institutional, conference and NCAA forms. Monitors eligibility and athlete satisfactory progress towards their degree. Ensures University is in full compliance with NCAA and PAC-12 legislation. COMPENSATION: $31,600 to $58,400. Strong benefit package including tuition reimbursement program and health plan options.
WORK SCHEDULE: Full time, 40 hours per week, Days with some nights and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Reports to Associate Registrar and works in consultation with Registrar’s Office and Athletic Compliance Office. - Monitors the eligibility/admission status of all designated incoming freshman and transfer student athletes. Provide a preliminary evaluation of all freshman prospective student athletes to ensure they are meeting initial eligibility requirements. - Maintain and update the University of Utah’s NCAA Institutional Request List on NCAA Eligibility Center website. - Ensure freshman and transfer student athletes are certified, with regard to both academics and amateurism. - Review, process and approve requests related to preliminary campus visits taken by prospective student athletes.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalency required. Knowledge of NCAA legislation and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required. Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
PREFERENCES: Highly preferable to have at least one year of Division I initial eligibility and/or amateurism experience.
