The West Virginia University Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit specifically designed to aid, further, and support the work and purposes of West Virginia University, is seeking a professional to join our fundraising team as the Director of Donor Relations & Special Events within the Mountaineer Athletic Club office. The Foundation is engaged in a $1 billion campaign for all parts of West Virginia University – A State of Minds – that will conclude in December 2017. This position reports directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director/Executive Director of the Mountaineer Athletic Club. This position is responsible for the management and leadership of all special events and donor stewardship for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at West Virginia University. In addition, this position will provide direction and supervision to the Assistant Director of Development and oversee all data entry for sport-specific and major gifts made to the Mountaineer Athletic Club.
A Bachelor's degree is required. Master’s degree preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for a Master’s degree. The candidate must have a minimum of two years of progressive development and special event experience. Experience with intercollegiate athletics, particularly Division I experience and direct experience working with donors is preferred. The candidate must have knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
